on December 8, 2024 at 7:11PM PST Alien: Romulus Limited-Edition Steelbook 4K Blu-ray $55 (was $66) Alien: Romulus on 4K Blu-ray (Standard Edition) $30 (was $50) Amazon has updated its shipping estimates for the Alien: Romulus Limited Edition Steelbook and restocked the standard 4K Blu-ray, 1080p Blu-ray, and DVD versions of the newly released movie. When Alien: Romulus launched on December 3, Amazon estimated up to a two-month wait if you wanted the Limited Edition Steelbook. Amazon now estimates orders placed today (December 8) will arrive before Christmas. On the flip side, Walmart is now sold out. If you don’t care about steelbook cases, the best value is the 4K Blu-ray for $30 at Amazon or Walmart. You’re saving $25 compared to the Limited Edition Steelbook. Last week, Amazon was charging more than Walmart for each edition, but now both retailers have the same prices. Alien: Romulus at Amazon Alien: Romulus at Walmart Along with artwork of the cast and Xenomorph on the front, the case’s interior gets you a close-up look at the encounter between the Xenomorph and colonist Rain (Cailee Spaeny). You’ll get 4K Blu-ray and standard Blu-ray discs as well as a voucher for the digital version of the film. Alien: Romulus also has some bonus content that sounds cool for longtime fans of the series. Alien: Romulus Bonus Features The non-steelbook edition of the 4K release also includes a Blu-ray disc, the digital version, and the same special features. The only difference between the two is the steelbook case. Directed by Fede Alvarez, Alien: Romulus follows a group of friends attempting to reach an abandoned space station, hoping to find a way off their unforgiving planet. Instead, they stumble upon a horrifying life form and a dark secret about the station’s past. The film earned solid reviews from critics and is one of the better Alien films in recent memory. Amazon and Walmart have some nice deals on more films in the Alien franchise, including the Ultimate Collector’s Edition of Aliens, which released on 4K Blu-ray earlier this year, and Alien: 40th Anniversary Edition on 4K Blu-ray. The Alien franchise has been mined for art books, novels, comic books, and even a Little Golden Book that teaches kids the the alphabet. It’s appropriately titled A is for Alien: An ABC Book.
