Jump Festa provided a short, but dark look at what’s to come when Dan Da Dan returns with new episodes next summer.
The first (and pretty great) season of Dan Da Dan ended just a few days ago, and it didn’t take long for Science Saru to announce a second season was in production. That’s good news, but the great news? Jump Festa provided a first look at what’s to come for Momo, Okarun, and the rest of their buds. Last we saw, the show was in the early parts of the “Cursed House” arc, and saw the duo go on a trip with Momo’s childhood friend Jiji to exorcise a nasty spirit from his house. While waiting for it to appear, it turns out they might’ve misjudged the situation: Jiji and Okarun found a secret room in the house filled with talismans, while Momo got attacked by a group of male villagers. The kids may have Turbo Granny with them, but they may be in a bit more danger than previous threats like aliens and Acro-Silky. and that’s not even touching on the ominous tease of the “Avatar of Hatred” with a desire to wipe out humanity, and a particular interest in young Jiji. Dan Da Dan’s always been a blend of comedy supernatural horror, and this trailer leans more on the latter. You know how some TV or film writers will sometimes call their sequel darker than the first? This is kind of like that; where season one’s trailers let you know you were in for a good time, this one wants you to be afraid for the gang as they figure out what’s going on and try to complete their task. The brief glimpses of the arc’s big bad, an “Avatar of Hatred,” give off scarier vibes than Turbo Granny’s posession, and it looks like things are going to escalate in some pretty big ways. Why does the Avatar want to wipe out humanity, and what’s Jiji got to do with those plans? We’ll find out when Dan Da Dan comes back on Netflix and Crunchyroll in July 2025. ð¾ð¸ð¾âââââ#ãã³ããã³ ææ¥ã¯ #ã¸ã£ã³ããã§ã¹ã¿ 2025ã¹ãã¼ã¸ã¤ãã³ãéå¬â¨âââââââð¸ð½ ð¸åºæ¼è #è¥å±±è©©é³ #è±æ±å¤æ¨¹ #ä½å綾é³#ç³å·ç人 #ç°ä¸çå¼ ð½æ¥æ12/21(å)17:00ï½17:30 ä½ããâ¦çºè¡¨ãããâhttps://t.co/OWmHDotHQX pic.twitter.com/UVdpkNiCqp — ããã³ããã³ãTVã¢ãã¡å ¬å¼ | 第2æã¯25å¹´7æããæ¾éäºå® (@anime_dandadan) December 20, 2024 Want more io9 news?
